Joao and Gino were busy setting up a platform for young engaged artists and approached me to take care of their type direction. Given the nature of the collective I opted to curate type from a political perspective rather than purely its visual appearance. After researching I constructed a type direction proposal with The Neue Black by Tré Seals at Vocal Type and Authentic Sans by Christina Janus and Desmond Wong. Next to the two aformentioned typefaces I also created a playful modular system with some simple rules to base the logotype on and allow anyone to create their own consistent letterforms.
